This workshop includes lectures on anatomy, emphasizing bone structure and discussions on expression and ethnic differences. Three days of intensive work sculpting a head in water-based clay with step-by-step instruction.
Cost for the three-day seminar is $475 ($425 for PAA Members).

Silvermine Guild Arts Center is looking for work to be displayed at their 59th Annual Art of the Northeast Exhibit which runs from May 6 to June 6, 2008.
Entry deadline is Friday, March 14 . Jurying will be by Thom Collins, Director of the Neuberger Museum of Art (Purchase, N.Y.). His selections will be finalized April 29th. The juror has discretion of $4,000-$8,000 in granting cash awards.

Brookgreen Gardens (South Carolina) Sculptors in Residence
April 13-27: Martha Griffin, Seaford, DE (wood) Martha Griffin began at Virginia Commonwealth Univ, then moved to NYC, where she studied sculpture at the National Academy of Design. In 1978-80 she studied in Italy, learning stone carving in Carrara and Pietrasanta. She returned to Delaware to establish studios for sculpture and printmaking. Her recent focus has been wood carving, in the round and in relief. She is on faculty at A. Arundel CC, Annapolis, MD.
